Should We Change Our Name?
- Is the current name cumbersome or too long?
- Has the current name been replaced by initials?
- Is the current name inappropriate? For example, does the current name refer to a geographic area that is no longer appropriate?
- Does the current name cause confusion? Is it similar to another name?
- Have acquisitions or mergers made the name irrelevant?
- Can the current name cause a hindrance to the organization’s work in any part of the world?
- Would changing the name revitalize the organization?
- If translated to another language, would the current name be an offensive word?
- Has the scope of the organization changed so the current name is no longer accurate?
- Is the current nickname (the common term used for the name) longer than two words and/or three syllables?
